To say the first half of 2020 was unusual and stressful is a massive understatement. It’s important for each of us to take time for ourselves.
Of all the things that stood out in the past few months, nothing made me prouder than to witness the resilience and determination of the Aerospike team. An example of this spirit was the Virtual Summit we held in May. With precious little time, the team put together an event that exceeded expectations—attracting nearly 900 attendees from around the world. Beyond the stories told and lessons learned, we also raised funds and awareness for World Central Kitchen and International Medical Corps, two organizations that are doing extremely valuable work helping those affected by COVID-19.
With the assistance of our partners Intel and HPE, and attendees of the Aerospike Virtual Summit, we raised over $15,000 for these two terrific organizations. Both organizations were very appreciative, as you can see from the messages we received:
“I just wanted to thank you for the donation from Aerospike – it means the world to us! Over the past three months, we have provided more than 15 million meals and we are directly working with more than 2,000 restaurants through our Restaurants for the People program.”
“Your generosity allows us to continue our robust response to COVID-19, especially as we are seeing the number of cases increase again. In the United States we are providing support at 23 hospitals and 51 Long Term Eldercare facilities across seven cities and have distributed over one-million pieces of PPE! We are also providing support in about 30 countries. And in South Sudan, our Infectious Disease Unit was asked to guide the country’s response.”
