Tokyo-Based CyberAgent Deploys Aerospike Enterprise Cluster in Japan

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. Feb. 2, 2016 Today, Aerospike, the high-performance NoSQL database company recognized for “speed at scale” leadership, announced that CyberAgent, Inc., a Tokyo-based leader in Internet services, has selected Aerospike as the next-generation NoSQL database for AdTech Studio, its real-time ad technology platform. CyberAgent chose Aerospike in order to further advance AdTech Studio’s performance, scale and economics.

AdTech Studio is a group of engineers at CyberAgent and its subsidiaries working to develop and operate the group’s advertising technology services. Established in October 2013 and comprising seven subsidiaries, it includes more than 200 engineers developing over 20 services.

AdTech Studio requires both millisecond latency and data persistence. As CyberAgent researched database alternatives, it found that Aerospike is the only database suited to deliver the speed at scale and predictable performance it required to grow its business. As a result, CyberAgent selected Aerospike as its NoSQL database.

“Aerospike has a significant advantage in Real-Time Bidding (RTB), where milliseconds are crucial,” said Brian Bulkowski, Aerospike’s CTO and co-founder. “We’re excited that CyberAgent has chosen Aerospike to power their digital advertising platform, and we’re proud to be part of the company’s success.”
