It gave us quick access to large datasets with one hop to the data from the client and the predictability we needed for our fraud platform. When you only have about 100 milliseconds to detect fraud, even 40 milliseconds of database calls consumes 40% of your detection budget.
Prior to Aerospike, we were using another in-memory database and running into challenges in terms of the cost of scaling. We needed to seamlessly leverage both the memory and disk in such a way that it can guarantee a consistent performance. We moved to Aerospike for its hybrid memory architecture to leverage next generation memory and SSDs to their fullest advantage.
We don’t get the luxury of shallow promises. Our supply chain is highly dynamic with orders being fulfilled from both dropship and CastleGate warehouses. Aerospike helps us precompute deep, accurate fulfillment paths in real time.
