Cloud Release Notes

July 14, 2025

New in this version

Major database user credentials overhaul to allow Cloud org admins to choose their own names and passwords for those users

Breaking changes

  • Credential management
    • Breaking change: The ID is no longer used as the username.
    • Breaking change: Read/Write quotas are no longer settable.
    • Migration is expected to work for existing credentials; the mapping of UUIDs->usernames may look strange in the UI

Developer Experience

  • Database credential management overhaul - Cloud admins can now create database users with custom usernames, passwords, and privileges
  • Automatic call-to-action checkmarks – Cloud admins will now see their call-to-action checkboxes check automatically
  • Operation queueing - Cloud admins can now reliably queue up database credential creation requests and vpc peering creation requests while a database cluster is provisioning
  • Instance selection screen overhaul - Instance type selection table updated; now sortable as well
  • Self-fixable database clusters - Cloud admins are now allowed to attempt to edit a database’s advanced configuration while in a broken state. This is to allow users to attempt to manipulate configuration options on their own to get their database back into the state they want and more easily experiment with different settings.

Bug fixes

  • Automatic logout on authentication errors - Cloud admins are now automatically logged out on 401 errors to address the experience of returning to a page after a time gap and seeing an error on refresh
  • Tooltip display corrections - Fixed tooltip mismatches across the interface
  • Organization switcher improvements - Resolved display issues in the organization switcher view
  • VPC peering form validation - Added whitespace trimming in VPC peering form inputs
  • Input styling corrections - Disabled outline colors and enabled proper input colors for better accessibility
  • Namespace name protection - Users can no longer change namespace names, preventing errors that would put cluster metadata in a confusing state
  • UI consistency improvements - Various alignment and consistency fixes throughout the interface
